Woman dies after being hit by van in Swanley

Police have made an arrest following the crash on Tuesday (January 16th)

A woman has died after being hit by a Ford Transit van in Swanley on Tuesday (January 16th).

The pedestrian, in her 50s, was struck by the vehicle as it travelled along Bartholomew Way, near to the Asda supermarket, at around 9am.

Police and ambulance crews were called out, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

He has since been bailed pending further investigation.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.
