Woman in court over alleged assault on police in Dover

A woman has been in court, charged with assaulting officers following a disturbance at St Margaret’s at Cliffe, Dover.

On Wednesday 27 December 2023, Kent Police was called to Reach Road where it was alleged a woman was acting in an aggressive and threatening manner.

Officers attended and Laurie Knight, 63, was detained at the scene. It was reported that Knight also assaulted two police officers whilst in police custody.

Knight was later charged with one count of using threatening or abusive language and behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress; two counts of assault on an emergency worker, and one count of possession of a class B drug.
