Woman charged following stabbing in Sittingbourne
A woman was found with stab wounds in a multi-storey car park in East Street
A woman has been charged following a report of a serious assault in Sittingbourne.
Police were called to a multi-storey car park in East Street, shortly before 8pm on Wednesday (27 August).
A spokesperson for Kent Police said:
"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a woman was treated for injuries consistent with stab wounds. The victim, who is in her 40s, was taken to a London hospital for further medical attention and was subsequently discharged.
"Later the same evening, a woman was arrested in connection with the incident."
Tina Tomsett, 60, of Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a bladed article in a public place.
She's been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates Court today (Friday 29 August).
Detectives are continuing to appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact them.
