Water supplies to customers in Seasalter have been fully restored.

Customers in Wraik Hill and Yorkletts may still have low pressure and intermittent supplies.

In their latest statement South East Water say: "We're really sorry that we've not been able to fully restore service to all customers in these remaining areas as yet, but our teams are continuing their work today to bring back supplies as quickly as possible.

"We know the past six days have been extremely frustrating and distressing to our customers and we're very sorry for this."

Tankers are injecting water into the area's network, therefore supplies may be intermittent or at low pressure.

Teams are continuing to work to remove an airlock in a key pipeline between drinking water storage tanks near Canterbury and Whitstable.

Bottled water stations opened again this morning at 9am at: Sainsbury's, Reeves Way, Chestfield, Whitstable, CT5 3QS (drive thru) 129C Faversham Rd, Seasalter, Whitstable, CT5 4SD (walk in only)

South East Water added:

"We are still delivering bottled water to customers on our Priority Services Register in the Wraik Hill and Yorkletts area.

"We know many people are understandably asking about compensation. At the moment our focus is on getting supplies back to our remaining customers as soon as possible, however we follow the industry's Guaranteed Standards of Service which outline compensation amounts payable depending on how long a supply has been interrupted for."
