Two sleeping drug dealers sentenced after being handcuffed in their beds in Snodland
Two sleeping drug dealers have been sentenced after they were arrested and handcuffed in their beds when police forced their way into a flat near Snodland.
Sam King and Harry Doncaster were in a property on Monkwood Avenue, Woudlham, when police found them surrounded by cash and supplies of cocaine in the early hours of June 12.
Officers also found keys to a car parked outside where more cash and drugs were found.
27-year-old King of no fixed address pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply, and possessing criminal property.
Doncaster, 28, admitted the same charges but the court heard he occupied a lesser role.
King's been sentenced to almost 3 years behind bars while Doncaster's been given a suspended sentence and will have to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
The judge also ordered the forfeiture of almost £20,000 in cash which will go to a charity of the court’s choice.
Detective Constable Andy Warner said: "This case is just one example of how proactive enforcement remains key to disrupting drug supply networks and protecting our communities from harm."
"After King and Doncaster were abruptly woken by our officers, we discovered a vast amount of evidence consistent with large-scale drug supply—including scales, suspected cutting agents, mixing tubs, vacuum seal bags and significant quantities of cash.
"Within the car parked outside, we also found concealed compartments believed to have been used to hide drugs and further evidence of an operation linked to high-level street dealing" says Det Warner.
