Two arrested after vehicle thefts in Sandwich
A 20 year old man has been charged and remanded in custody
Police have arrested two men after a series of vehicle related thefts in sandwich being reported
Working with CCTV operators, they seized two vehicles and amounts of class a drugs.
During the early hours of Thursday 1 August 2024, patrols were on duty in the area when they received a report that people had been seen tampering with vehicles before trying to gain access to others parked on the Cattle Market.
Tyler Jackson, 20, from High Street, Dover, was later charged with theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a vehicle, driving without insurance, possession of a class B drug and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Friday 2 August and was remanded. The case will next be heard at a court to be confirmed, in September.
A 21-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal, theft, and possessing class A drugs, and was released on bail pending further enquiries.
