There are major delays on the trains in Kent after a fire broke out next to the track in Margate and a failure of the electricity supply in the Ashford area.

The Margate blaze has caused a failure of the electricity supply to the line towards Faversham, meaning no trains can run towards Faversham.

There are no trains between Margate and Ramsgate, services will terminate and restart at Margate.

Southeastern say passengers can use tickets at no extra cost on Stagecoach bus routes 8, 8A and 36 via Margate.

In Ashford, a failure of the electricity supply is delaying highspeed trains towards London St Pancras.

We're told a very limited shuttle service will run hourly between the stations until the rest of the day.

Services between Ramsgate and St Pancras via Dover will run between Ramsgate and Ashford via Dover only.

Services between Margate and St Pancras via Canterbury West will not run.
