Three lives were saved this morning after a yacht ran aground six miles off the Deal coast.

An RNLI Lifeboat was launched at 6:57am, and arrived to an 11 metre vessel, taking on water, on the Goodwin Sands. It was in a two metre swell.

Pictures show the crew arriving at the scene, taking the casualties on board, giving them a health check before transferring them to a Ramsgate lifeboat, which took them ashore.
