Kent Police have confirmed a teenage girl has been hit by a car outside a school in Kent.

Emergency services attended Towers School in Kennington this morning.

Police officers and ambulance crews were called to the secondary school in Faversham road, shortly after 8am, to reports a teenage girl had been hit by a car.

The collision happened close to a traffic light-controlled crossing outside the school.

The force confirmed South East Coast Ambulance Service treated the teenager at the scene before she was taken to the William Harvey Hospital with injuries.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

"Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car at 8.17am on Thursday 13 June 2024.

"Officers attended the scene in Faversham Road, Kennington, Ashford, with the South East Coast Ambulance Service. A teenage girl reported injuries and she was taken to a local hospital."
