A mum from Kent has told us she is 'relieved her family is staying together' after two children's centres were saved yesterday.

It's after Kent County Council overturned a decision to decommission Seashells in Sheerness and Milmeads in Margate - agreeing to fund them for the next financial year.

Amy Watkins is from the Isle of Sheppey, her children attend Seashells, and she said: "I think it's going to take a little while to process but obviously i'm delighted and chuffed.

"It's just nice to know that for the next year we will still have Seashells but I don't think my mind will fully be put to rest as there is still that unknown past next year.

"I know somebody that I instantly want to hug when I get back to Seashells as she's been stressing about it and has been feeling the exact same way as us parents because we are all one big family and it's such a relief that it won't be broken apart and I will still have stability."
