Schoolchildren injured in Meopham crash

Several people, including a number of children, have been hurt in a crash in Meopham.

It happened at around 3.25pm on Wednesday (22 May) as has been described as "serious"

A bus and a tractor were involved and the air ambulance was sent out in response.

There were road closures near to the scene on the A227 South Street near Culverstone Green and close to the junction for Chapman’s Hill.

Police, paramedics, an air ambulance and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were all at the scene.

Several passengers on the bus, including children, were injured and have been receiving treatment at hospital.

The crash is being investigated by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Unit and officers want to hear from any witnesses.

They are particularly interested in people who may have footage on their phones and drivers with dashcam footage.
