Safety Advice given in Swale schools
The roadshow will speak to 1000 year 9 students and runs from 7-18th October 2024
Teenagers across Swale have been given safety advice and tips as part of a roadshow being presented to schools.
The roadshow started on Monday 7 October and runs until Friday 18 October.
The partnership roadshow included topics such as health and social care, drugs and alcohol, antisocial behaviour, exploitation and knife crime.
Staff from Kent Police, Swale Borough Council, Clarion Housing domestic abuse services, charity Uprising Youth and Community, and the NHS were all involved.
A local singer and actor, Robbie White, hosted the event and bridged the gap between presenters.
Swale Police Sergeant Carli Deacon said: ‘By the end of the week we will have visited seven different schools across Swale and spoken to around 1,000 Year Nine students.
‘The aim of the roadshow is for police and partners to give advice around real life situations which should enable young people to make better and more informed choices to keep themselves and their peers safe, alongside the consequences of making poor choices.
‘It is hoped that the roadshow will enable them to have the confidence to say no and also enable them to find help from a trusted adult or organisation should they need it.’
