Rainham sex offender jailed for 17 years
Police say Samuel Anifaloba who's 49 sexually abused his victims separately between 2004 and 2006
A sex offender who targeted two children in Medway has been jailed for 17 years.
Samuel Anifaloba, of no fixed address, sexually abused the young victims separately at an address in Rainham, between 2004 and 2006.
The offences were reported to Kent Police on Monday 30 April 2018 and he was arrested on Monday 25 June 2018.
Anifaloba was charged and later found guilty of rape and six other sexual offences involving a child, following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court.
The 49-year-old was sentenced on Tuesday 14 May 2024. His Honour Judge Branston branded Anifaloba a selfish and self-centred man, and added him to Sex Offenders’ Register for life. He will also be subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Investigating officer Luke Grimmett said: "Anifaloba subjected each child to vile abuse and I want to commend their bravery in coming forward to report his crimes. His victims are now adults and it took them a long time to come to terms with what he did and for them to feel confident in approaching Kent Police.
"His actions have left a lasting impact but I hope they can now move forward in the knowledge that their actions have ensured he is unable to cause any further harm.
"We have specially trained officers who work sensitivity with anyone who reports they have been a victim of a sexual offence. It does not matter when it took place and officers will work diligently to ensure those responsible are ultimately brought to justice."
