Pedestrian dies one month after collision in Gillingham

The man, in his 60s, passed away on Christmas Eve

A man has died in hospital, one month after being involved in a collision with a car in Gillingham.

The pedestrian, in his 60s, was struck while walking along Pier Road, near the junction with Mariners View, at around 9.20pm on November 24th last year.

Police say the vehicle involved in the collision was a blue BMW M3 convertible.

The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he died on Christmas Eve.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand, to call the SCIU witness appeal line on 01622 798538 or email them, quoting SM/SS/125/23.
