Motorcyclist dies after crash with van in Harrietsham

A motorcyclist has died after a collision involving a van in Harrietsham this morning.

Police were called at 7.45am after a motorcycle was involved in a collision with a van on the A20 Ashford Road.

The incident happened between the junctions for Hook Lane and Fairbourne Lane and was attended by officers along with South East Coast Ambulance Service. The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s from Medway, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Enquiries are being led by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU). Motorists who were in the area are urged to check for any relevant dashcam footage which may show a black Suzuki motorcycle and a white Mercedes Sprinter van.

The van driver stopped at the scene.
