Motorcyclist dies following crash on A2 near Dartford

Police continue to investigate and are appealing for witnesses

A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the A2 near Dartford.

Emergency services were called the Londonbound carriageway carriageway of the A2 just before the junction for Dartford Heath, at around 8.08am on Friday 10 May 2024.

Police say the incident involved a grey BMW motorcycle and a black Kawasaki motorcycle.

A man in his 30's was pronounced dead at the scene while another man was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

His next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed for most of the day but National Highways says it has since reopened

Police are now investigating are are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses to come forward

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are being carried out by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

"Motorists who were in the area are urged to check for any dashcam footage, which may assist the investigation.

"Witnesses can also provide information by contacting Kent Police on 01622 798538 and quoting reference RY/JG/046/24, or by emailing sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk"
