Man jailed for attempted murder for driving car at two people in Maidstone

A motorist has been jailed for attempted murder after he deliberately drove a car at two people in Maidstone.

It happened around 11.45pm on the evening of 12 November 2022.

30 year-old Anthony Deeprose, of no fixed address, drove a car at a group of people after a fight broke out outside a pub on Station Road

He collided with two men in their 20s - one of whom was seriously injured.

Police arrested Deeprose near Faversham around two hours later.

Following a trial, he was convicted of the two counts of attempted murder - having previously pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, disqualified driving and assault by beating.

Today he was sentenced to 27 years' in prison.

Deeprose will have to serve two thirds of the sentence before he is eligible for parole.
