Man in 80s seriously hurt after collision involving lorry in Canterbury

The casualty remains in a serious condition after it happened on Friday 19th January.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian - that left a man in his 80s with serious injuries in Canterbury.

Kent Police was alerted to a collision involving a white Scania Tipper lorry and a pedestrian at the junction of Sturry Hill and Island Road, Sturry at around 12.20pm on Friday 19 January 2024.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who saw the incident, or who has dashcam footage which might assist their enquiries, to come forward.
