Man dies as fire crews fight house fire in Maidstone
Multiple crews were sent to the scene late on Friday night.
A man has died following a house fire in Maidstone, according to Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
Three firefighting appliances were mobilised to the scene in Lenham late on Friday night and worked into the early hours on Saturday to fight the flames.
Hose reel jets and breathing apparatus were used to combat the blaze, but despite best efforts, a man passed away.
An investigation into the cause of the fire has started but the Service says it believes the fire to have been accidental and not suspicious.
