A suspect has been charged in connection with a robbery and stabbing in Dartford.
Police received a report at around 5.45am on Sunday (9 March) that a man had been attacked, sustaining stab wounds.
The injured man was approached by two off-duty police officers in Cotton Lane and reported that he had been driving his van with a second man as passenger.
It was alleged that the passenger made demands and the driver was assaulted.
The passenger reportedly left the scene in the driver’s vehicle, leaving the driver without his mobile phone.
Officers attended and carried out enquiries.
The victim was taken for treatment to a London hospital and was later discharged.
An investigation led to the arrest of a man in James Road, Sevenoaks on Tuesday (11 March).
The following day, Michael O’Callaghan, of Albert Place, Rochester, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery and possession of a bladed article.
Mr O’Callaghan, 26, appeared before Medway magistrates yesterday and was remanded in custody to Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 14 April.
A woman arrested in Sundridge, Sevenoaks on suspicion of assisting an offender was later bailed pending further enquiries.
