Man charged in connection with sexual offences at Kent gym

A suspect is to appear in court today, charged in relation to sexual offences against three women in an Ashford gym.

Shortly before 1am yesterday (22 October), a police officer was approached in the Eureka Park area of the town by a member of the public, who reported that a woman had been sexually assaulted by another gymgoer, earlier in the evening at PureGym in Warren Retail Park.

Following enquiries, the officer arrested a man in the area.

Jordan Mutemeri, 23, of Guernsey Way, Ashford, was charged today (23 October) with sexual assault on a woman, as well as outraging public decency in relation to a separate incident at the gym on the same date against two other women; possession of class B drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article, and a public order offence.

He has been remanded and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.

Kent Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
