A man's been charged after an assault in Margate

It happened on Saturday at around 1 am when a group of people were involved in a disturbance in Mansion Street,

Two people sustained facial injuries during the incident, after being sprayed with a liquid, believed to have been a strong alkali, with others suffering reddening and irritation.

Officers attended and seized the bottle, thought to have contained the substance used.

Ronnie Tudor, 19, of St Luke’s Avenue, Ramsgate, was charged today with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a corrosive substance in a public place, and administering a noxious thing with intent to injure or aggrieve.

He will appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court later.
