Man arrested and pedestrian seriously injured following collision in Margate

A pensioner has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Margate.

Police was called to a report of a collision involving a grey Audi and a pedestrian in Northdown Road, Cliftonville at 11.10am on Thursday 18 April 2024.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and an air ambulance. A man in his 70s was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
