Man arrested following crash in Deal which saw girl suffer broken leg

Witnesses are being urged to come forward after a teenage girl suffered a broken leg following a collision in Deal.

The incident happened on the A256 Eastry Bypass at the junction with Felderland Lane between 11pm and 11.15pm on Saturday 6 January 2024.

The injured girl was a passenger in a blue Ford Fiesta involved in a collision with a grey Volkswagen Scirocco. The driver of the Scirocco had left the scene prior to police attendance.

Officers carried out enquiries into the vehicle and attended an address in Sandwich shortly afterwards where they arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries
