A man has died after being hit by a lorry on the M20 near Ashford.

Police were called to the coastbound carriageway between junctions 10 and 11 shortly after 7.45am on Friday.

The man, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Part of the motorway was closed for more than six hours for an investigation.

The westbound carriageway was also held to allow an air ambulance to land at the scene and was then reopened.

Police have appealed for witnesses and dash cam footage.
