Appeal for witnesses following collision involving a police car in Sittingbourne

A 39-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a marked patrol car near Sittingbourne.

The force say an officer driving a marked patrol car was responding to an urgent call when it was involved in a collision with a white Ford Focus on the A2 London Road in Teynham.

The police officer and the two occupants of the other car suffered minor injuries in the incident on the 26 May.

A 39-year-old local man, who was driving the Ford Focus, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

He was later bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who witnesses the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward.
