Kent Fire and Rescue are advising people to avoid a house fire they're dealing with Ashford

Kent Fire and Rescue are advising people living or travelling near Bank Road, Aldington, Ashford to avoid the area.

There's a road closure in place as crews extinguish a house fire.

Emergency services were called to the house in Ashford around 2:00 am on Saturday 18th January.

At the fire's peak, six fire engines, a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier were in attendance and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, are using main jets to extinguish the flames.

The fire is now out but crews at still at the scene dampening down hot spots.

Four fire engines and the technical rescue unit remain on scene.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known, but is being investigated.
