A raid led to five arrests following the discovery of large quantities of drugs and weapons paraphernalia in Marden, near Maidstone.

Officers investigating the supply of illicit drugs to rural west Kent carried out a search at a site near the A229 Staplehurst Road on 31 May 2025.

Upon their arrival, it is alleged a man threw several parcels into a pond, which were later retrieved.

As a result of the search, patrols confiscated a large quantity of cocaine and ammunition, including shotgun cartridges and ball bearings.

A suspected stolen vehicle was also recovered, and a burglary kit seized from within, containing items such as balaclavas, gloves, and power tools.

Cannabis was also found to be growing in a nearby field.

Five arrests were made in total:

A local 50 year old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine;

A woman in her 30s from Tonbridge on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine;

A local woman in her 40s on suspicion of manufacturing ammunition;

Two men in their 20s from Orpington and Swanscombe on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped.

All suspects have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
