Kent: Five arrested after hammer attack
Multiple arrests after hammer attack in Birchington
British Transport Police have arrested five people after a person was hit over the head with a hammer in Kent.
The force made the arrests at Birchington train station.
The hammer and a knife were seized as part of the investigation.
In a statement, British Transport Police said:
"A busy couple of days for officers in Kent, having made several arrests and attended a large variety of incidents ranging from drunk & disorderly persons to trespassers, assaults and GBH.
"The GBH occurred at Birchington whereby a person was hit over the head with a hammer.
"Fortunately he did not sustain serious injuries."
All five were interviewed and bailed whilst further enquiries are carried out.
