The driver of a private ambulance has died in a crash involving a lorry.

Kent Police confirmed the collision happened on the A251 Ashford Road towards Faversham, just after the junction for the slip road onto the London-bound carriageway of the M2.

At 2.20pm on 29 February a dark grey Ford Transit panel van was travelling along the A251 when it was involved in a collision with a white DAF truck coming in the opposite direction.

The force said: "Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the driver of the Ford Transit van, a man in his 50s, was confirmed deceased.

"His next of kin have been informed."

Kent Police are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
