Nearly all teachers worried about pupils on a-level results day
It's after a study by the NSPCC
Nearly half of all teachers are worried about their pupils on a-level results day.
Today, across the county, pupils will be finding our their grades.
For most it will be good news, either heading to university or an apprenticeship but for some, they may not get the grades they were expecting.
For 94% of teachers that the NPSCC surveyed, this is a worry , believing their students these exams will determine their future.
Lala Dott, is a Childline volunteer counsellor in the South East and had this advice for parents, she said: "The young person can find it very difficult to talk about how they are feeling and the results that they got.
"Therefore, it's really important for parents to be patient and supportive and they need to realise that sometimes their kids aren't going to be ready to talk about how they feel.
"They should encourage them to take time as its not a decision that needs to be taken straight away, they can have time to think about what they want to do next, it doesn't have to be rushed.
"A really good practise that people can do is to write their choices down, a list of positives and negatives to decide.
Looking at what it means on the good side and the not so good side and this will help people way it out, by looking at things from either side."
