Drivers in Kent are being warned of more disruption ahead of a series of closures planned for the Dartford Crossing.

National Highways has confirmed they will be carrying out repairs to some key electrical components in the east tunnel, as well as planned maintenance to a bridge at A282 junction 1b throughout June.

They say the A282 northbound carriageway (between M25 junction 2 and A282 junction 1a) and the Dartford east tunnel are scheduled to close overnight on weeknights between Monday 3 June and Friday 21 June.

Weeknight closures of the Dartford east tunnel will then continue for one additional week between Monday 24 June and Friday 28 June.

A clearly signed diversion for northbound traffic will be in place via the A2 eastbound, B255 northbound and the A206 westbound, returning to A282 junction 1a where access to the west tunnel will be available via the northbound entry slip road.

During these works, the adjacent Dartford west tunnel will remain open overnight for vehicles less than 4.8m (15’-9”) high. Vehicles between 4.8m (15’-9”) and 5.0m (16’-6”) high will be diverted via the M25 clockwise.

Weekly tunnel safety inspections will continue overnight on weekends as usual.
