Driver dies after van collides with parked lorry of A2 in Kent

A man in his 20s also suffered serious injuries near Cobham on Friday afternoon.

Kent Police was called at 4.14pm on Friday 31 May 2024 to the coastbound carriageway following a collision involving a lorry and a van.

Two lorries were parked on the hard shoulder, when for unknown reasons a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided with one of the lorries. The driver of the van, a 50-year-old man died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The passenger, a 20-year-old man received serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the lorry received minor injuries.
