A Kent MP has called for the Elizabeth line to be extended into Ebbsfleet.

Jim Dickson, the MP for Dartford, believes those living South of Thames should be able to catch the cross London railway.

This was originally the plan in 2003 but currently the line only run as far as Abbey Wood.

Jim Dickson, MP for Dartford, told us: "It's always been something that people in these areas feel resentful about with the Lines going as far as Romford in Essex but not as far in Kent.

"There is a really good case here because of the homes that could be built from Abbey Wood to Ebbsfleet but also for the homes that are already being build as part of the 'Garden City', where the commuter links and infrastructure is desperately needed for the people moving into the new development

"That's why we are saying to the government that we want to see investment in this line in order to complete the job that was originally on the map.
