Cyclist dies following collision in Strood
A man in his 70s was taken to hospital where he later died.

A cyclist has died after he collided with a stationary car door in Strood.
At around 11.20am on Tuesday 14 May 2024, Police say a cyclist was riding a black bike in Canal Road towards the High Street, when there was a collision with the driver’s door of a stationary red MG ZS.
Emergency services attended the incident which was opposite the entrance to Strood railway station. The cyclist, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital where he later died.
Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the car or bike beforehand, to call them on 01622 798538 quoting XX/LW/049/24.
