Crash on A2 leads to road closure

The incident happened last night, with the closure in place in the morning

A multi-vehicle collision on the A2 has led to the road being closed for a number of hours.

The east-bound carriageway was shut from the B255 Bean Interchange to the A2260 Southfleet Road for Northfleet and Ebbsfleet shortly after 11pm yesterday.

A number of different department officers were sent to the scene including the police, paramedics and firefighters.

Inrix stated:

"A2 Eastbound closed due to serious accident from B255 Bean Lane (Bean Interchange, Bean) to A2260 Southfleet Road (Northfleet / Ebbsfleet Turn Off, Ebbsfleet Valley).

"Traffic had been stopped on the westbound to facilitate the attendance of an Air Ambulance. The eastbound remains closed."
