Two men charged with Canterbury murder

Two men are due to appear in Magistrates court at 10am today (14th October) charged with murdering a man in Canterbury city centre.

Kent Police was called to a disturbance in the High Street at 11.31pm on Thursday (10th October).

Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was found with an injury consistent with a stab wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Four men were arrested following the incident and detectives launched a murder investigation.

Kemal Ibrahim, 24, of Long Acre Close, Canterbury, and Mohammed Hgar, 31, of no fixed address, have now been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Mr Ibrahim was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The two men are appearing before Margate Magistrates' Court this morning.

Two other men who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
