Arrest made after crash in Northfleet seriously injured woman

A woman remains in a serious condition in hospital following a collision in Northfleet.

Police were called at around midday on Sunday 14 April 2024, a black Mercedes A-Class was travelling on London Road towards Gravesend, when it was involved in a collision with a red Citroen C3.

The driver of the Citroen, a woman in her 70s, was treated for injuries at the scene and then taken to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

A 25-year-old man from Lewisham, Greater London, who was driving the Mercedes, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

He was later bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.
