A suspect has been arrested following a disturbance at a Leysdown-on-Sea pub that led to a police pursuit.

Kent Police were called at around 9.30pm on Thursday 23 August 2024, after damage was allegedly caused at the premises in Leysdown Road.

A man left the scene in a van and attending officers located the vehicle before requesting the driver to stop.

The van did not stop and continued for more than 30 miles pursued by patrols that were assisted by the police helicopter.

It came to a stop on the A2 near Brenley Corner after constables deployed a stinger device.

A 38-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of multiple driving offences and criminal damage. He was later bailed until 21 November while the investigation into the incident continues.
