Police in Hythe are looking for a potentially key witness as they investigate an assault.

Shortly after 5pm on Friday 14 June 2024, a woman was reportedly assaulted by a man who is known to her on the canal path at the Folkestone end of the Royal Military Canal, near Seabrook Road.

A 61 year old's been arrested and bailed.

Enquiries have suggested that the victim spoke to a cyclist shortly after the incident, and officers are very keen to speak to him as he may have information to help the investigation.

The cyclist is described as a white man, around 70 years old, wearing a red T-shirt.
