A20 shut again while bomb disposal team search scene of Kent Police shooting
It's after a man was shot by officers in Hollingbourne on Monday night
The A20 at Hollingbourne has been closed for a second time as a result of ongoing police investigations following an incident earlier this week.
On Monday 7 July 2025 officers attended an address in Ashford Road, near Maidstone, where a man in his 30s was shot by a police officer.
He remains in hospital where his condition is described as life-changing.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said:
"Following further searches of the local area, officers have now had to close the A20 for a second time to allow an EOD team to make the area safe.
"It is currently not known how long the road will be closed for, but Kent Police is committed to reopening the A20 as soon as it is safe to do so.
"There may also be temporary disruption on the M20 for a short period of time in the afternoon of Thursday 10 July."
