Inverness have signed centre-back James Carragher on loan from Wigan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old is the son of former Liverpool defender and pundit Jamie Carragher.

James Carragher joined Wigan from Liverpool in 2017 but has managed only six appearances for the Latics since his debut in August 2021. He spent the first half of last season on loan at Oldham.

He will be hoping to help Duncan Ferguson's Inverness side, who are seventh in the cinch Championship, ease themselves away from the relegation zone and up towards the promotion play-off places in the coming months.

Carragher signed his first professional contract with Wigan in August 2021 and he made his debut for them in the EFL Cup against Hull City in September 2021, before signing a new two-year deal with the Latics in April 2023.
