Motorcyclist dies after Moray road crash

The incident happened on the A96 between Alves and Forres

A motorcyclist has been killed after a crash in Moray this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the A96 between Alves and Forres around 8:40am after reports of a collision involving a car and motorbike.

The male rider was pronounced dead at the scene and the female driver was taken to hospital for treatment.

Drivers are being advised that the stretch of road remains closed.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the A96 between Alves and Forres around 8.40am on Sunday, 30 July, 2023.

“Emergency services attended and the male rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The female driver of the car has been taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and the A96 is closed between Alves and Forres.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 1112 of 30 July, 2023.”
