A man has been taken to hospital after a single car crash on the A96.

Emergency services were called to the A96 eastbound between Inverness Airport roundabout and Nairn around 06:10am today.

The road was closed, and the male driver was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Officers have now reopened the route and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.10 am on Saturday, 7 October 2023, police were called to a single vehicle road crash on the A96 eastbound between Inverness Airport roundabout and Nairn.

"The male driver of the car has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

"The road is now open and enquiries into the incident are continuing."
