Man killed in Caithness crash

A man has been killed in a road accident in Caithness.

Kevin Campbell, 47, was driving a black Mazda 2 which was in a collision with a blue Seat Ateca at around 9.50am on Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which happened on the B876 at Kirk.

The driver of the Seat, a 47-year-old man, was taken to Caithness General Hospital and released following treatment for a minor injury while the passenger, a 17-year-old boy, was not injured.

Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and his family have asked for privacy.

"Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and has information that could assist to get in touch.

"In particular, if you have dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact officers."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1062 of Sunday December 3 2023.
