Caley Thistle have announced that they are to keep Fort George as their training base for the foreseeable, but that the immediate future of the club could be entering a particularly fraught period.

In a brief, long-awaited statement, the club said that the Board of Directors are in discussions with potential new investors and remain hopeful of finding a new investor or new owners.

There has been much turmoil with the departure of former Chairman Ross Morrison, a move which followed the backlash to plan to move the ICT training base to Kelty Hearts' ground in Fife.

However, given the financial circumstances that ICTFC currently find themselves in, following the loss of the Statkraft contract at Caledonian Stadium, the club have approached an insolvency practitioner to advise on how they could proceed if new investment is not forthcoming.

It's understood the Statkraft contract was worth a seven-figure sum to the club.

Despite fans hopes of an improvement to the situation, with the news that the club will continue to train at Fort George, there are still concerns about the amount of players under contract ahead of season 2024-25.

The first match proper is in the League Cup, away to Annan, on July 13th.
