MFR News understands Scot Gardiner has left his role as CEO of Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Gardiner's resignation was announced in June, with the club saying at the time he would be serving notice.
It's understood he has now departed Caley Thistle and we've also been told talks are ongoing over a fresh takeover, just weeks after a deal appeared to be finalised.
However, discussions now are said to be ongoing with a new consortium, led by a Highland based businessman.
We've contacted Scot Gardiner and Inverness Caledonian Thistle for comment.
An official statement from the club is expected later today.
This follows the club's relegation to the third tier of Scottish football and plans to move training 135 miles away in Fife were met with a fierce backlash.
Caley Thistle have started their League 1 campaign with one draw at home to Dumbarton, followed by Saturday's away loss to Annan.
Scot Gardiner took up the post as ICT CEO in April 2019.
He has held a number of key senior management roles in football over the last 20 years, having served as Chief Executive Officer of Dundee FC, Chief Operating Officer at Hearts, Acting Commercial Director of Tottenham Hotspur FC and Commercial Sales Manager of Glasgow Rangers FC.
