A teenager is one of four people to be arrested after heroin and crack cocaine were found in the Highland capital.

Two men aged 18 and 26, who police say are from outside Scotland, have been charged with drug offences along with two women aged 37 and 45.

Officers attended a property in Merkinch yesterday and recovered the drugs worth a combined three-figure sum.

A cash sum of four figures was also seized.

They are all due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today.

Detective Constable Robert Morrison said: “We are committed to disrupting county lines drug activity supplying drugs into the Highlands, causing misery to our local communities.

“Working together with the public is crucial to our investigations, and I would urge anyone with information or concerns about drug related activity within the area to please contact us on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
