Family pay tribute to 'amazing dad' following fatal A9 crash

His loved ones have released a statement following this morning's incident near the Munlochy B9161 junction

A man has died following a collision on the A9 between North Kessock and Tore.

James "Jamie" Noble was the driver of a Volvo Tipper in this morning's crash close to the Munlochy B9161 junction, which also involved a Scania Tipper.

Police say the 30-year-old exited his vehicle at the time of the incident.

Emergency services rushed out to the scene of the crash which happened at around 1:50am, but the Nairn dad was prounounced dead at the scene.

Family statement

In a statement released by his family, Jamie's loved ones outlined how he was a "much-loved fiancé" and an "amazing dad."

They said: “Jamie was a much-loved fiancé to Morven and an amazing dad to Daniel.

"He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

"Our family would appreciate privacy at this difficult time, while we come to terms with our loss."

Police appeal

The A9 was closed for around eight hours to allow for investigations to take place.

Police Scotland are urging anyone who may have been in the area travelling towards Inverness to get in touch.

Sergeant Ewan Calder, from the Highland and Islands Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Jamie’s family at this terrible time.

"Enquiries remain ongoing and we ask anyone who may have been travelling southbound in the area around the time of the incident and witnessed what took place, or has any dashcam footage, to please come forward."

Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting incident 0184 of 12 March, 2024.

A BEAR Scotland spokesperson said: “Our deepest sympathies go out to the deceased’s family and colleagues at this time.

“This tragic fatal incident occurred on one of our sites and involved a supply chain member of one of our long-term contractors.

"We are co-operating fully with, and will give all assistance to, the Police investigation to determine the cause of this tragic incident.

“The health and safety of all those on our sites is of paramount importance to us and we were devastated to learn of this tragic event.”
