Cyclist seriously injured in weekend incident in Inverness

The man was found around 2.30pm on Sunday when a motorist came to his aid

A 54-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a weekend incident in Inverness where the cyclist appeared to have come off his bike.

He was found seriously injured on Leachkin Road on Sunday around 2:30pm.

A motorist came to the aid of the man who was seen lying on the road near to Lawyers Way and Highfield Avenue.

The injured man was taken to Raigmore Hospital initially, but he has since been transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

Sergeant Douglas Scott, Road Policing Unit, Inverness, said:

“This is quite a busy road used and so I am appealing to anyone who was in the area between 2.20pm and 2.30pm or saw the man come off his bike to come forward.”
